Bravo Hillary! I can't believe your dedication that you'd take the challenge with you on your holiday vacation in Tahoe! But more importantly that you'd paint this masterpiece on vacation - away from the comforts of your studio. You've mastered luminosity with your unusual palette! I love her eyes so clear and how her top is reflected on one side of her face!
Wow! I am speechless. Hilary, thank you. It truly is a stunning piece of work, and watercolour, too, is so difficult. You are obviously a master of your craft. Can't stop looking at it!
Sharon, thank you, and I'm so glad you are enjoying the piece. What a great way to meet a fellow artist! Now that I'm done and back in town, I'll visit your blog to comment back!
Thank you Dominique, I'm so excited by your comments because I really do strive for that luminosity! Thanks for taking the time to see the prayer shawls, also. More to come soon!
Wow... compliments from the subject and peers. It doesn't get better than that! Congrats on such a wonderful piece! I am in awe of your rendering of skin tones and sparkling eyes.
Hillary, this is just stunning, and I see several people have used that word before me, but I think it's a good one to use. When I first saw this on the screen, I actually sat back and said ' whoa!'. The colors are glorious.
Beautiful, you captured her youthful spirit! Watercolor oh my! how wonderfully done. You definitely have an expert artists hand. I love the background too it feels so Western Europe-England some how to me.
Wow, I'm overwhelmed that you have all taken the time to look and comment. Sheila, Edward, Deborah, Akiko, Victoria, Irit - thank you very much. I'm so glad to hear from my faithful followers, and also new people whose work I look forward to visiting. THANK YOU!

Show-stopping. You own watercolor.
This portrait is so luminous, her eyes are fabulous.
Your work on the prayer shawls is spectacular.
Hillary, what a strong painting. I love the intensity in her eyes and the overall soft, yet solid feel to the whole piece.
